This past weekend Nick from the JK Team headed to the Goodwood 79th Members’ Meeting with his camera to get a shot of the action.
Having come into the office today with over 3,000 photographs and a massive smile on his face, he’s put together the following show report from the event, which is the first time Nick’s been to the Members’ Meeting at Goodwood.
Here’s what he had to say about his day at the races:

What’s fantastic about the Goodwood Members’ Meeting is that it’s completely open - you can go pretty much anywhere, which is a photographers dream!
My favourite part of any Goodwood event is the paddocks themselves. All the mechanics getting the cars ready, the noise, the smell.
It’s what motorsport is all about.

Not only that, but it’s always great for photos.
Whether its capturing cars being pushed through the crowd or a mechanic headfirst into the engine bay to fix a problem, there's always something going on.
It is the heart and soul of the event!

My personal highlight was the V10 F1 demonstration.
As a F1 fan born in 1995 I missed the proper V10 era of Formula One, and the real screaming cars.
To see iconic cars as Sennas’ McLaren MP4/4 driven by his nephew Bruno Senna was a pretty special moment.
Not only that, but in convoy with other iconic V10 F1 cars from that era, which created some fantastic photo opportunities.

As the sun started to set, out came the Porsche 956 and 962 convoy.
Driving for about thirty minutes until it was night, they put on a spectacular Lemans 24 Hour demo, which is something I’ve always wanted to witness.

As a photographer, the most unique part of the evening was the paddock lit up at night.
For photos it was fantastic, with amazing lighting and completely empty of crowds.
Next time I’m defiantly bringing my tripod!

Once the tack action finishes. the off-track party begins!
In the centre of the circuit turns into a mini festival with a band on the main stage, vintage fair ground, food market and even live carnival acts around the crowds.
Finishing off the day with the massive firework display at 10pm.
It was an excellent day, and an amazing opportunity to get photos of incredible cars.
