Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026

Every summer, the Duke of Richmond hosts the world's largest automotive garden party: the Festival of Speed. It's one of my favourite events of the year to photograph. With such a diverse range of cars and bikes, you're spoiled for choice and you even get to see world-exclusive previews and reveals.

The Tamiya Sand Scorcher

This year, Lanzante turned up with a mind-blowing, full-scale version of the Tamiya Sand Scorcher. It was incredibly cool to see a childhood remote-control toy scaled up to a 1:1 reality, complete with the iconic rear sand tyres! To make it even more special, the vehicle was driven up the hillclimb by drift legend Michael "Mad Mike" Whiddett, who shared the cockpit with a very special passenger, Mr. Nobuhiro Tamiya himself, the President of Tamiya Inc.

The build marked the 50th anniversary of Tamiya RC vehicles, accompanied by 50 limited-edition Lanzante-tuned RC cars. Sadly, the full-scale beast only went up the hill once, but I managed to get a snap of it leaving the start line!

Central Feature

California-based boutique atelier Singer Vehicle Design took centre stage as the official Central Feature marque for this year's festival. The towering Gerry Judah sculpture erected right on the lawn of Goodwood House was a breath taking feat of engineering, dramatically suspending three operational customer cars in mid-air with all of their fluids safely drained. The triple-arch structure beautifully silhouetted a trio of distinct Singer eras. A Classic, a Classic Turbo, and the lightweight DLS.

Faces of F1

There was a massive turnout of F1 personnel this year, spanning everything from current team principals to iconic drivers of past and present.

Lando Norris had an absolute presence at FOS, logging two full days of appearances across Friday and Saturday. As one of the biggest British crowd-pleasers on the grid right now, his time on the property sent fans into a frenzy. This included two chaotic balcony moments, one of which saw him sharing the spotlight alongside MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, and driving three vastly different cars up the hillclimb over the weekend, topped off by his 2023 McLaren F1 car.

Rally Stage

The Forest Rally stage is a part of the Festival of Speed that casual spectators often miss, but it remains one of my absolute personal highlights. It offers a complete sensory shift from the rest of the grounds. Stepping into the forest offers shade with the sound of pops, bangs & turbo whistles

This year there were a wide selection of cars hitting the stage. From iconic group B legends to modern WRC, there was something for everyone

The 1966 Le Mans winning GT40s

American Celebration

This year, Goodwood celebrated the rich lineage of American motorsport history, curating a beautifully diverse line-up of loud NASCARs, historic Le Mans winners, and a life-sized, incredibly accurate recreation of Pixar superstar Lightning McQueen.

The absolute standout bit of history, though, was the presence of the actual, legendary Ford GT40s that conquered Le Mans back in the 1960s.

Cartier Style et Luxe Lawn

On the left side of the house is the Cartier Style et Luxe Lawn, which is one of the finest Concours d’Elegance in the world. Each year brings a whole new group of stunning cars.

This year the lawn was covered in millions of pounds worth of cars. Including a huge collection of Koenigseggs, with even the original prototype on display! And a whole selection of Lamborghini Miura was also on display on the lawn, arguably one of the most beautiful Lamborghinis ever made.
