Let’s get down to business

You’ll get a chance to witness the glory of both air-cooled and water-cooled VW’s, have a chat with the JK team, admire awning displays, visit independent trade stands, and explore a vintage retro stall from Phyllis Tuckwell who’ve spent plenty of time prepping by collecting retro treasures.

Expect cooking demos by the lovely ChefCampers along with children’s activities, amazing food and refreshing drinks. For those of you who are spending the weekend there, you can expect live music and even two classic 80’s films on our open-air cinema screen!

What’s new?

We will have Air-Style VW magazine joining us, as well as some Surfers Against Sewage Rep’s who will be sharing information about their latest campaigns and how you can get involved!

Not to mention the Flying Seagulls will be taking over our stage from 10 am until 12 noon on Saturday. They will run a jam-packed programme of free games, shows, magic, and a circus skills free play so guests can try their hand at some juggling and plate spinning!

If you’ve not heard of them before, here’s a video to get you excited for the event.

There will also be a bouncy castle for kids and garden games to enjoy.

Music!

As you know, we’ve got two brilliant bands playing for us on our stage during the Saturday event. These are Pippa and The Players and Blue Eyed Soul. Pippa and the Players delve into the rich and varied archives of Stax, Atlantic, Motown and more, to brighten your day with timeless soul music from the 60s and 70s.

Blue Eyed Soul is a seven-piece band who will be playing a mix of pop, rock, blues, and original material. This Alton based band is a local favourite and will get you hyped up for the evening’s activities. The bands will be playing early evening on Saturday from our stage area, prior to our Saturday film!

The films!

Yet more 80’s classics this year!

On Friday we get to experience the film that had kids everywhere breaking out the cardboard and bustin’ some moves, back in the day. We see Ozone, Turbo and Special K in Breakdance (Breakin’).

Then on Saturday evening get ready to watch the showdown between Daniel La Russo and Johnny Lawrence, because we’re showing the 80’s hit The Karate Kid on the big screen!

Films will start 30 minutes after sunset, roughly 9:45pm, so grab your blankets, popcorn and refreshing drinks, and enjoy your evening at our pop-up cinema.

There will be food and drinks!

Bar 83 - Bar 83 will be attending the event and serving their high-class selection of soft and alcoholic beverages. Ice cold drinks are the perfect way to complement a day in the sun! All drinks are served from the bar within their unique converted 1983 Rice Double Trailer horsebox. This stunning spectacle will offer a variety of treats such as wine, spirits, larger, ale, soft drinks, and even botanical gins for the fancier folk among you!

MyPie - MyPie have joined us year after year at our open day for some time and it simply wouldn't be the same without them. My Pie will serve us up a storm from their mobile kitchen. This catering van will have a variety of pies to choose from, including vegetarian and vegan friendly options! They’ve got classics like their Beef and Ale available. The veggie and vegan recipes are adventurous and delicious, they even have a pie made with truffle oil – how posh! These pies are award winning - try them you won't regret it.

VDub Grub - Serving burgers, chips, hot dogs and more all prepared by some of the loveliest people! We're looking forward to welcoming the team this year.

Stone Rose Pizza - Another open day newbie. This local duo have put their heart and soul into their business. They work hard to provide the best quality, and freshest handmade pizzas possible. We've been looking forward to this for quite some time. They will be joining us on the Saturday evening only - so get your orders in fast before they sell out!

O's Coffee - Would it even be an open day without the wonderful O's family? We don't think so. As well as being incredibly fantastic individuals, the O's team have worked tirelessly to create their own coffee blend that really hits the spot. Their hot chocolates are to die for and to top it off they are committed to maintaining family friendly prices.

And to top it off...

Dubbie's Icecream - Working from a converted Splitscreen camper - the Dubbies duo are also iintegral to the JK Open Day vibe. We were their first show some time back and we're thrilled that they keep coming back. Serving some seriously good ice cream treats you'll be sure to be soaking up the cool vibes from them!

Just a few last points
Please note that we are located on a working farm, with residents and other businesses within close proximity, so please be respectful of them as you arrive and depart. Camping will not be allocated, so you’re welcome to pitch where you please, as long as it’s within the indicated areas.

We ask that as you’re setting up your pitch, you ensure there’s a 2-metre firebreak left between yourselves and other pitched units.

BBQ’s are allowed, but they must be elevated from the ground. We ask that you keep them under control at all times and that all coals are disposed of in the allocated hot coal and ash bins provided.

There’s a strict 5 mph speed limit in place for the safety of others on site. Toilets and limited showers will be provided but please note there are no Elsan disposal facilities. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome but please pick up after your pups!

If you’ve got any questions, please get in touch with our team via email at [email protected] We cannot wait for this year’s event, it’s really been a long time coming! Get yourselves ready and excited for the upcoming JK Open Day!

We're all very excited and can't wait to see you there!

The JK Team.
