Started back in 1999, the Isle of Wight Walking Festival has remained one of the most popular and largest walking festivals in the UK.

The 2023 Festival takes place between Monday 13th to Sunday 21st May, and will once again highlight the Mountbatten Walk The Wight on Sunday 14 May.

The Mountbatten Walk The Wight is a popular event, which thousands of walkers take on short walking challenges, or take on the full 26 miles from the east coast to the west of the Island, raising money for the Isle of Wight hospice.

The Isle of Wight is a fantastic location for a walking holiday, with campsites widely available and more than half of the Island being recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With its 60 miles of dramatic Heritage Coastline and more than 500-miles of well-maintained and signposted footpaths the Island has long been recognised as a walker’s paradise, as well as being one of the most important sites for dinosaur fossils in the whole of Europe!
