Watch one of Cornwall's oldest traditions, Hurling the Silver Ball. The game has been taking place for over 1,000 years, although no one is entirely sure of the origins of the competition.

Two teams - traditionally the 'countrymen' and 'townsmen' from a given parish - battle it out to hold onto a ball made from apple wood and coated in silver. St Ives and St Columb continue to play the game annually, although the tradition has generally disappeared from much of the rest of Cornwall.
