Fitting a spare wheel mount

If you are looking for extra space inside your van, a simple way is to move the spare wheel to the outside.

This mount allows you to bolt the spare onto the front of your van. You can then personalise your van by adding one of our spare wheel covers which come in seven different styles to suit any van.

1967 & Earlier

1 Remove VW emblem and any bushings.

2 Centre the wheel mount on VW front panel. Drill 4, 1/4" (6.25mm)

diameter holes in VW front panel using wheel mount as a guide. (Do not use the 2 holes near the centre of the panel)

3 Re-drill the 4 holes to 3/8" (9mm) diameter.

4 Proceed with 1973-79 instructions, Nos. 4-6 before.
