BBT 2E3 Replacement Carburettor Installation Guide
This installation guide provides useful fitting information for the BBT 2E3 carburettor (BBT 2184-100), designed as a replacement for the original 2E3 carburettor fitted to 1.9-litre water-cooled WBX engines with the DG engine code.
The 2E3 carburettor is an important part of your VW’s fuel and induction system, controlling the fuel and air mixture supplied to the engine. A worn or poorly functioning carburettor can contribute to problems including an unstable idle, poor engine performance and increased fuel consumption.
Use this guide alongside the replacement carburettor to help identify the relevant connections and correctly install the unit.
Vehicle Compatibility
This guide applies to the BBT 2184-100 2E3 carburettor, with OEM reference 025 129 015, including applications for:
VW T25 / T3 Transporter
From January 1985 onwards
1.9-litre water-cooled WBX petrol engine
DG engine code
2E3 carburettor
Always confirm the specification of your existing carburettor and vehicle before installation.
Before You Start
Read through the complete installation guide before removing the existing carburettor. Make a note of the position and routing of fuel hoses, vacuum lines, electrical connections and throttle components before disconnecting them.
Work with the engine switched off and completely cool, and take suitable precautions when working with petrol and the vehicle’s fuel system.
Carburettor installation and adjustment can affect engine performance, fuel delivery and vehicle safety. If you are unsure about any stage of the installation, we recommend having the work carried out or checked by a suitably qualified mechanic.
