This roof-mounted system uses its powerful integrated heat pump to produce hot air on cooler days; you’ve got the tools to make the most from your camping setup from spring through to autumn.

How big is it?

The external unit measures approximately 66 cm wide, 100.8 cm deep, and 24.8 cm high. The air distributor within, measures approximately 67 cm wide, 52.3 cm deep, and 4.6 cm high.

The AC requires a roof aperture of at least 38 cm wide, by 38 cm deep but no larger than 40cm wide by 40 cm deep. The Truma Aventa Comfort can function, up to a maximum incline of 8%, while in operation. 

The technical stuff

The unit has control over the ambient temperature of your interior, covering a range of 4 °C at its coolest, to 40 °C at its warmest. The AC cooling power is rated at 2400 W, and it’s warming power is rated at 1700 W. The units power consumption is brilliant when you compare it against its cooling output. The power consumption at average is approx. just one kilowatt-hour, at a cooling output of 2400 W.

The Truma Aventa Comfort is compatible with 230 – 240 V power supply, with an output of 50 Hz. Truma’s AC weighs just 33 kg, including the weight of installation materials.

Power consumption in cooling mode, using 230 V is rated to 4.2 A. Heating mode, using the same input voltage, is rated to 3.7 A. The unit has a start-up current of 28 A and a maximum volumetric air flow of 400 m³/h.

Vehicle compatibility

For VW van conversions, the Truma Aventa Comfort is best suited to larger vehicles like VW Crafters. Similar sized vehicles include the MAN TGE, Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, Citroen Relay, Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato, Renault Master and Vauxhall Movano.

For this AC to coordinate successfully within the interior of a van conversion, you’ll require a vehicle built with a high roof. For smaller vehicles, it’s worth noting the size of the unit may interfere with existing roof mounted appliances such as satellites or solar panels.

This AC should only be fitted to tin-top vehicles; not compatible with pop-tops as these would foul the unit. To experience the best performance from your Truma AC, it’s encouraged that the unit is fitted to a vehicle with insulated walls.

The Aventa Comfort roof-mounted AC is easy to retrofit, in place of a previously installed roof vent, AC unit, or skylight.
