Fulcrum plates sit either side of each axles and allow the axle to move up and down within the gearbox. These wear over time and can lead to a noisy sounding gearbox and ultimately complete axle failure. This can be compounded with very low cars as the axle angle becomes extreme. Fits all swing axle cars from 1961 on.
