When checking your alternator’s efficiency, test for voltage and amperage outputs. Your alternator has a rated amperage output specific to the electrical requirements of your vehicle. This important component regulates the charging voltage produced by your vehicle’s alternator – maintaining it between 13.5v and 14.5v in order to run efficiently and to protect the electrical system. Too much voltage and costly damage could result with parts burned out; too little, and performance is weakened.
Designed for use with units that have only two connecting wires, plus earth. Fits all VW Beetles from 1974 to 1979, and 1600cc T2s from 1974 19 1979. Also used with alternator conversion kits.
