EMPI Cylinder Head Shroud Offside (Right) VW T2 Bay 1700-2000 1972-1979

This EMPI lower offside (right) cylinder head cooling tin is designed to help improve airflow around the cylinder head VW T2 Bays with 1.7 to 2.0-litre air-cooled engines.

Finished in black and supplied as a single piece, this cooling tin forms part of the engine’s rightt-hand cooling tinware and helps direct the airflow produced by the cooling fan where it’s needed.

Fits the offside (right) on VW T2 Bays built from 1967 to 1979, with 1700cc to 2000cc air-cooled engines.

What Does Cylinder Head Cooling Tin Do?

The cooling tinware fitted around an air-cooled VW engine helps control and direct the flow of cooler air around the cylinders and cylinder heads, to keep your engine at a stable working temperatire.

This EMPI lower cylinder cooling tin has been designed to increase airflow to the cylinder head for additional cooling, which can be especially important in performance engines or if you’re expecting to drive for long periods of time in warmer temperatures.

How Do I Fit This EMPI Cylinder Head Shroud Cover?

You may find that you need to remove or loosen the surrounding engine components when installing this replacement EMPI cylinder head shroud, to ensure it locates properly and can be fitted securely.

Once it’s in place, you'll need to make sure the cooling tin sits correctly alongside the surrounding tinware and doesn't leave any gaps that cooling air can escape through. It's also a good opportunity to inspect the rest of your engine cooling tinware and seals for missing, damaged or incorrectly fitted components.
