What’s the deal with "Sorry Bout That”?
The iconic “Sorry ’bout that” slogan originated with EMPI and dates back to Southern California’s VW drag-racing scene during the 1960s and 1970s, an era that also saw the rise of the California Look (Cal-Look) movement.
“Sorry ’bout that” was often written on the back of these performance Beetles, as the ultimate tongue-in-cheek expression of VW performance culture: a cheeky, unapologetic message to anyone who had just been beaten by a humble little Beetle!
How Do I Fit the ’Sorry Bout That’ Gear Knob?
After removing your existing gear knob, select the appropriate thread or adapter and screw the new knob into place. Position the adhesive-backed emblem after fitting so the lettering faces the correct direction.
