Empi Billet Gear Knob VW Beetle, VW T2 Split, VW T2 Bay, VW T25

This great quality replacement gear knob is finished with the EMPI logo in blue on the top.

The gear knob has been designed for gear sticks with a 10mm or 12mm thread, but it’s also supplied with threaded adapters for 7 mm and 3/8-24” threads, which will then fit to the 12mm hole on the gearknob.

Fits the gearstick on the following vehicles:

• VW Beetles built from 1947 to 1986,

• VW T2 Splits built from 1950 to 1967,

• VW T2 Bays built from 1967 to 1979,

• VW Karmann Ghias built from 1955 to 1974,

• VW Type 3s built from 1961 to 1973,

• VW Type 181 Trekkers built from 1969 to 1979.

How is the EMPI Billet Gear Knob Fitted? 

After you have removed your old gear knob, you just need to pick the correct thread or adapter to match the new gear knob to the gear stick in your classic VW, and then screw the new knob securely into place.

Once it’s in place, you can place the adhesive-backed emblem onto the gear knob, so you can make sure that the logo faces the correct direction.
