Great looking and great sounding - that's the genuine Empi 2-tip GT exhaust system whose twin chromed tips feature built-in resonators for that unique GT sound. Offering improved looks and performance over the stock system.

These exhausts are coated in transit paint, for longevity this will require the paint to be stripped and re painted in a VHT paint.

  • Absolutely Excellent

Needed to modify the rear valence (only slightly). Exhaust lined up perfectly and looks great, even better it sounds superb also.

I did rough up the original painted surface with a wire brush (some of the original paint came off) and then i repainted with a quality heat proof exhaust paint. Only did this as there were other postings saying that the original paint burnt off too easy.

This exhaust has improved the power compared to the standard old exhaust and it also gives me more MPG - all round winner.

  • Looks great, sounds great but........

Exhaust looks great, sounds great & fitted on my '83 bus without any valence mods but it's frustrating to buy a new exhaust & the first thing you have to do is strip the "transit" paint & re-paint it. I paid £40.00 to have the exhaust stripped & stove enamelled so it should now last......surely EMPI could manufacture with a better quality paint finish even if it means paying a few quid more?

    JK Response

    Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to submit this product review on the Empi 2-tip exhaust system, we really appreciate customer feedback like this as it's invaluable to us during our constant process of improving and expanding our range here at JK.

We're really glad to hear that you're happy with the look, sound and fit of the exhaust system, and although £40 is a pretty good deal on getting it stripped and enamelled, we appreciate that you shouldn't have had to have this done to make the system last!
We understand your frustration and we'll have a word with Empi to see if it's not something they can improve on in the future.

    Thanks again for your feedback

  • Its good but......

Sounds brilliant, looks fantastic, not sure about the performance increase as i've got carb issues. Easy to fit, just a shame about the repaint. I'd happily pay more to have the VHT paint already on it to take away the hassle of rubbing down and repainting.

  • Awesome

Fitted to 1983 1.9 DG, valance did need a little notch taking out to prevent rattling but other wise easy fitting. Paint work complete rubbish but mine's a rat so blended in quite quickly. Sounds amazing and improved fuel economy.
The only ? is how long it will last, might buy another to store in garage for future.

  • Replacement exhaust for T25

My son had a 2-tip GT exhaust on his T25 but it had passed its sale by date so we ordered a new one on the Sat and it arrived the next day jobs a good one!!

  • 5 years and out

Okay so I brought my T25 for my 38th birthday it had this as a new exhaust ... yes the paint came off and yes each year I have wire brushed down and given it two coats of Stove paint ...
This year it has now blown out ... for the cost and the sound ... perfect buy ... unless you don't want an exhaust sticking out by about 9 inches ... burning your legs as you make a coffee in the back of your van..... I will upgrade to the stainless one this time around

  • Great sound, lasted 5 1/2 years.

For the price I paid (£99 back in 2013) I thought this was good value for money. After all it is a consumable part and to last 5 1/2 years i can't grumble about. It probably would have lasted longer but I had some back firing issues (missing spark) that managed to blow the whole bottom out of the RHS silencer BOOOOOM!!
As I like the sound of this exhaust and needed a replacement, I've opted for the J40324 304 Stainless Steel version this time, especially has it has a 'lifetime' warranty!
This is fitted on a T25 Westfalia 1983 1900 Water DG engine, (the rear valence required bending back for clearance).
